Your mission
At 1KOMMA5°, we connect and manage distributed energy devices at scale. As a Working Student Lab Engineer, you'll help maintain and optimise our lab environment, where we test and integrate solar, battery, heat pump, and EV charging solutions. Working closely with experienced engineers, you'll gain hands-on experience with hardware testing, system simulations, and real-time data analysis.
Key responsibilities include but are not limited to:
Assist in the design, assembly, and maintenance of test benches for various lab experiments and product evaluations.
Conduct hands-on testing using existing test benches, ensuring accurate data collection and proper operation of equipment.
Document test results, preparing clear and concise reports to support research and development processes.
Your profile
The successful candidate will have:
You are enrolled in a university and can commit 20 hours per week.
You are studying a relevant degree program (e.g. Electrical / Embedded / Automation Engineering, or Computer Science).
Hands-on experience in assembling electrical boards and building circuits, with a strong technical understanding.
Basic skills in IoT, embedded systems, or industrial automation (e.g., microcontroller programming, and common industrial communication protocols: Modbus TCP, MQTT).
Basic knowledge of hardware and software testing processes and equipment.
Excellent organisational skills and attention to detail.
A proactive, problem-solving attitude and the ability to work independently.
Strong communication skills and the ability to collaborate with cross-functional teams.
Bonus points for:
Experience in developing and programming embedded systems using Python
Experience with renewable energy systems or power electronics.
Basic knowledge of energy systems like solar, batteries, or EV charging.
Familiarity with lab testing tools and environments.
