In tech we have two main work streams:
Heartbeat: Building a virtual power plant levering our energy manager “Heartbeat” and evolving the customer experience app around this
Operating System for installation companies: Digitisation of operations and processes from ground operations to rooftop installations
As a Lab Engineer, you will build and configure test setups with integrated PV systems, batteries, heat pumps, and EV chargers. Alongside maintaining and calibrating test equipment, you will develop testing procedures for OEM component compatibility within the Heartbeat platform. Your role also involves providing 3rd-level support, documenting procedures and results, offering guidance to lower-level support teams, and contributing to the improvement of testing methodologies at our Berlin lab.
Key responsibilities include but are not limited to:
planning and execution of development-related tests with hardware components for our integrated control system with Heartbeat
Design and construction of test benches
Definition of test KPIs, documentation and evaluation of test results
Testing and steering of components via our application in close cooperation with our product development teams
Assemble and configure test benches to accurately simulate single-house environments, integrating PV systems, battery storage units, heat pumps, and EV chargers.
Maintain and calibrate test equipment to ensure accurate measurements and reliable test results
Perform functional tests to verify our energy management system is operating correctly and according to specifications
Design and implement test procedures to evaluate the compatibility of OEM components within our Heartbeat platform, and also to analyze and troubleshoot customer-facing technical issues.
Provide 3rd-level support to solve technical problems working closely with other support tiers, engineering teams and stakeholders.
Document test procedures and results, support processes, issue resolutions, and best practices for reference and continuous improvement
Provide guidance and knowledge transfer to lower-level support teams, contributing to skill development and improving overall support capabilities.
Assist in the development and improvement of testing methodologies and procedures
Completed studies in the field of electrical engineering or mechatronics, ideally with a focus on measurement technology
Alternatively completed vocational training in one of these areas and practical experience in a laboratory
2+ years of experience in assembly, testing, or maintenance of electrical systems, preferably in the renewable energy industry
Proficiency in reading electrical schematics and technical documentation
Hands-on experience with electrical testing equipment such as multimeters, oscilloscopes, and power analyzers
Experience collaborating with support teams and stakeholders to troubleshoot technical issues
Strong documentation skills, with the ability to record and communicate test procedures, results, and best practices
Fluency in English and German, both written and verbal
We are an ambitious and dynamic company with a talented team. We require our engineers to be imaginative, enthusiastic, and willing to tackle new challenges as we strive to provide everyone with renewable energy technologies.
You will be part of a young, dynamic and highly motivated team with people who have proven that they can make things happen and move companies forward
With your work, you support the megatrend "energy and mobility transition" and make a concrete contribution to the sustainable transformation of our energy infrastructure
You are part of a fast growing company with a lot of development potential
You move in flat hierarchies and have direct contact with the managing directors as well as short decision-making paths
You will be welcomed by a young, close-knit and fast-growing team with an exciting task ahead
The results of your work are immediately recognizable and have a direct positive impact
You can build something independently and take responsibility
You create a healthy balance alongside your work and enjoy all the benefits of the EGYM Wellpass
